Format -- shouldn't this be the lemma page?

[edit]

Per other related discussions, the emerging consensus is that wago terms should use the kana pages for the lemmata entries. However, as of today (2018-09-11), this page is mostly a redirect to the kanji pages. This is suboptimal, not least as the mi readings for both and are cognates with significant sense overlap, the mi honorific is cognate with , (mi, god, deity, sacred spirit), and many of these have more than one kanji rendering (such as prefix mi appearing also as and even ).

Would anyone oppose turning things around and having the kanji entries point here instead? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 21:35, 11 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Eirikr: I created them as placeholders. Of course it would be the most logical if wago terms are lemmatized here. I'm also thinking about having a template like this:
===Etymology x===
{{ja-forms|御|美|深}}

====Prefix====
{{ja-pos|prefix}}

# ...
The template can be used for listing kanji spellings of a wago as well as anchoring, so (1) み#ja-御 links to the relevant section directly in a list of homographs and (2) {{ja-see}} can fetch glosses and copy categories from only relevant sections of the lemma page. --Dine2016 (talk) 01:01, 12 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
