Romantic in linguistics?[edit]

In 2015 it was added that Romantic is synonym of Romance in linguistics. No source given.

Is this true? I've checked several dictionaries and none agrees. Is this a joke?

Just look up “romantic languages” on Google Books. —(((Romanophile))) (contributions) 03:55, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Have you done it? Only really ancient results in the field of linguistics. The other ones have nothint to do with linguistics. Are people who mix up romance and romantic. --77.75.179.1 09:04, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
It is not a sense that professional linguists use. That is correct. But among laymen mentioning or discussing linguistics, this is what some of them use, hence the tag ‘informal’. —(((Romanophile))) (contributions) 12:21, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
