Rfv-sense: aspectant (singular) defined as "(heraldry) Animals placed face to face in a charge." I can't find this as a noun at all, outside one non-heraldic quote ("Bookes and a packe, and cheeses and bookes, were compared together in Lillye and Heywood, to the one for aspectants, to the other for opinions"). Based on other heraldic additions by Vildricianus I've spotted recently while going through the category, I think he saw "Animals placed face to face in a charge are said to be aspectant." in the 1862 Manual of Heraldry and did not entirely comprehend what that meant. - -sche (discuss) 16:31, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
