Etymologies

[edit]

@Pastawater Where'd you get the etymologies you added on October 16 and 19? Like bayo, saksak, pakpak, kulog, rupok, etc.? Thanks. Mar vin kaiser (talk) 14:41, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's a good source- I use it myself. There are some intermediate levels in other parts of Malayo-Polynesian that linguists might dispute, but the main thing to look out for is their annoying practice of using only phonetic notation for even well-known languages without any mention of the normal spelling- things like "ba-báʔe" for babae. Don't ever take their word for it on the spelling of cognates. Chuck Entz (talk) 19:20, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
