Most common sense first[edit]

Sense 7 is by far the most common use in English. Can that be listed first, or is there some rule that places it at the end of the list?

What are you referring to as sense 7? The 7th sense in the entry is "an animal skin", which seems unlikely to be more common than the first sense, "to make something fall, especially to chop down a tree". - -sche (discuss) 03:29, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps the seventh etymology instead, the past tense of fall? That's certainly the most common sense of the word. — Eru·tuon 04:20, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ah, true. Meh, I have no ojection to moving that up to be the first section, though I would guess the reason it was placed last is that there was some feeling that lemmas/definitions should go before inflected forms. - -sche (discuss) 05:06, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
