gaffle (etymology 2)

None of the senses listed have citations. Also, is this a word in broad use, is it dialectal, or archaic, or... something else? Tharthan (talk) 06:44, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

According to a mention in Google books[1] "'Gaffle' is an urban slang term meaning to steal, rip-off, and scam". Vox Sciurorum (talk) 21:05, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Additional meaning from rap lyrics at https://www.therightrhymes.com/gaffle-up/, and since generally available songs are considered durable it should be citable. See also http://www.rapdict.org/Gaffle. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 21:09, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have added citations for the meanings I could find, plus I added some on the citations page for definitions that I could not find enough cites for. Kiwima (talk) 07:16, 13 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

RFV-resolved. I left in "to steal" even though it only has two quotes because it is in the intersection of "to swindle" (different object), and "to grab or seize" (not larcenous). Kiwima (talk) 00:17, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
