plebian

[edit]

Daring a hint of self-referentiality, I'd always thought the spelling was 'plebian'. Alas, Google tells me 'plebeian' is twice as good as 'plebian'. How could I argue with any such authority? Oh well, I've created a redirect for those like me. Shenme 03:35, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Interestingly, the spelling-dictionary Microsoft uses accepts both 'plebian' and 'plebeian', but considers 'plebians' incorrect, accepting only 'plebeians'. Consistency isn't a virtue, I guess. --Suttkus 17:34, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

English pronunciation

[edit]

Should the pronunciation not also include /pliˈbiː.ən/ ? I have always heard it pronounced that way, at least in American English. Chkiss (talk) 11:03, 4 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
