@Donnanz: Hi. Is this British English? You wrote that it's not found on the US edition of {{R:Lexico}}, and I've noticed US {{R:Macmillan}} doesn't have it either. Also, “staging post” (UK) in Macmillan English Dictionary. says it's "old-fashioned", is it true? PUC16:02, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • @PUC: I can't remember why I made this entry now. It is in the US edition of Lexico now as a third choice (after staging area and staging point); MW says it was first known in 1911 (in the US?), so maybe staging post isn't as common in the US. Looking at Google hits the term seems to be very much in use, including some figurative uses. DonnanZ (talk) 17:35, 9 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
