The difference between the American and the British meanings of statutory authority is usually obvious by how it is used in a sentence.

  • A British organization is a statutory authority which does something.
  • An American organization has statutory authority to do something.
  • An American organization's statutory authority can be found in Example Law or Example Act.
  • An American organization's statutory authority is Example Law or Example Act.
