no Wiktionary extension for firefox

best I can tell, from archive.org this, method for querying Wiktionary from firefox hasn't been available since 2007. my gut tells me there must be a reason? and reluctant to install 3rd party plugins if wikimedia doesn't provide a plugin as simple as submitting a search query (like the wikipedia search plugin)? 73.158.250.253 03:35, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
