Etymology
[edit]Possibly from cachgi (“coward”) + bwm (“boom, buzz”), where cachgi is literally an "excrement dog" (cf. cacwn (“bumblebees”) for similar etymological elements) and bwm is onomatopoeic (compare English bumblebee).
