Etymology 1

From Urdu حلالہ (halāla), the practice being called in Eastern Persian حلاله (halâla), while Iranian Persian uses محلل (mohallal), the Arabic term being تَحْلِيل (taḥlīl), scilicet نِكَاح التَحْلِيل (nikāḥ at-taḥlīl), زَوَاج التَحْلِيل (zawāj at-taḥlīl).

  1. (Islam) A wedlease (temporary marriage) to a stranger undertaken prior to remarriage to an ex, that is to make the remarriage halal, or the woman halala f to marry.

      Since remarriage is not permitted after three divorces, they arrange Halala with some one, that is, on the condition that he divorces her, the next day after marriage.
