Borrowed from Belarusian ю́дзіць (júdzicʹ) and Ukrainian ю́дити (júdyty), from Proto-Slavic *juditi,[1] from Proto-Indo-European *Hyowdʰ-éye-ti, causative of *Hyewdʰ- (“to be agitated”).
