leefang (plural leefangs) (nautical, obsolete)

  1. A rope through the clew of a jib, holding it amidships while lacing on the bonnet.
  2. A metal bar, fastened at its extremities to the deck, and upon which the sheets of some fore-and-aft sails traverse, particularly the foresail of a sloop or cutter.
