Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Slavic *ormę, cognate with Proto-Germanic *armaz. Slavic cognates include Upper Sorbian ramjo, Polish ramię, Czech rameno, Ukrainian рамено (rameno), Old Church Slavonic рамо (ramo).
