Etymology[edit]
Blend of rounded + rectangle. In 1981, a function for quickly creating rounded rectangles was added to the Apple program LisaGraf (later renamed QuickDraw) at the request of Steve Jobs, with the program referring to this shape as the "RoundRect."[1]
