Etymology[edit]
From Old Frisian sīa, from Proto-West Germanic *sehwan. Cognates include West Frisian sjen and German sehen.
The past participle is suppletively from Old Frisian *bilōkia, from Proto-West Germanic *bilōkōn, whence also English belook.
