  1. (sometimes impersonal) to splash with scattered drops or a small amount of some liquid, to spatter, to sprinkle
    Sluta kasta stenar i vattnet! Det stänker.
    Stop throwing rocks into the water! It makes it splash.
    Han stänkte vigvatten på vampyren
    He spattered holy water on the vampire

Usage notes

The immediate intuition is of many small drops, whereas skvätta is for larger blobs of liquid.
