Maltese[edit]
Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]
From Arabic أَوْلاد (ʔawlād), plural of وَلَد (walad), whence Maltese wild (“progeny”), of which ulied does not anymore function as a plural, however.
Pronunciation[edit]
Noun[edit]
ulied
Usage notes[edit]
- In order to specify sex in the plural, the appositions subien (“boys”) and bniet (“girls”) are used; see these.
