From Old Persian *Dātakaʰ, from the retrenchment of name with the element 𐎭𐎠𐎫𐎶 (d-a-t-m /⁠dātam⁠/, law) + extension -𐎣 (-k /⁠-kaʰ⁠/).[1][2]
