Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (yapïrğaq, “leaf”); Tatar яфрак (yafraq, “leaf”), Kazakh жапырақ (japyraq, “leaf”), Turkish yaprak (“leaf”), Uyghur يوپۇرماق (yopurmaq, “leaf”), Yakut сэбирдэх (sebirdeq, “leaf”), etc.
