Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Common Turkic *ilen-, seemingly the passive form of *ile- (to ruin, spoil)[1] despite its transitivity. Cognate with Turkish ilenmek.

اِلَنْماقْ (ilenmēk) (third-person singular aorist اِلانُرْ (ilēnür))

  1. (transitive) to reprove
    اُلْ اَنْكارْ اِلَنْدٖىOl aŋār ilendī.He reproved him.
