Etymology[edit]
Unknown,[1] isolated in Karakhanid unless Khakas сыр (sır, “arrow”)[2] is a cognate,[3] in which case it might be inherited from Common Turkic.

- (archery) the midrib of an arrowhead
- (clothing) the loop through which the belt passes on either side of a robe
