Persian[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From forms of the word treated under گوی (gôy, “ball, globule”) + ـچه (-če, forms diminutives). The similarity to Azerbaijani göyəm and its Turkic family meaning “sloe” is a coincidence.

- (Iran, formal) IPA(key): [ɡ̥ow.d͡ʒé]
- (Tajik, formal) IPA(key): [ɡäw.d͡ʒǽ]
