Borrowed from a continental New Indo-Aryan language, such as Gujarati ગુજરાત (gujrāt) or Hindi गुजरात (gujrāt), ultimately from Sanskrit गुर्जरत्रा (gurjaratrā, country of the Gurjaras), from गुर्जर (gurjara, Gurjaras)
