Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Sanskrit फल (phala). Cognate with Gujarati ફળ (phaḷ), Hindi फल (phal), Nepali फल (phal), Odia ଫଳ (phôḷô), Rajasthani फळ. Related with फळणे (phaḷṇe).
