Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Sanskrit উদ্যান (udyāna, “going out”), from উৎ- (ut-, “out”) + যান (yā́na, “a going”). Cognate with Kamta উজানি (uzani) / uzani, Sylheti ꠃꠎꠣꠘꠤ (uzani).
Doublet of উদ্যান (uiddan, “park”).
