Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Sanskrit पूर्ण (pūrṇa, “filled, full, entire, complete, fulfilled”), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *pr̥Hnás, from Proto-Indo-European *pl̥h₁nós. Cognate with English full. Doublet of পুরা (pura), পুরো (purō), পূরণ (puron), and প্রায় (praẏ).
