Inherited from Old Punjabi ਭੀ (bhī), from Paisaci Prakrit [Term?] (compare Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀯𑀺 (vi), 𑀧𑀺 (pi), 𑀅𑀯𑀺 (avi)), from Sanskrit अपि (api). Compare Hindi भी (bhī).
