Etymology[edit]

Unexplained. Strömberg starts from an unattested verb *ἐγγραυλίζω (*engraulízō), beside γρυλίζω (grulízō, to grumble); thus this word would mean "the grumbling one". However, the variation αυ/υ is not convincing.
