Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Moroccan Arabic هز (hazz), from Arabic هَزَّ (hazza).

Pronunciation[edit]

Verb[edit]

ⵀⵣⵣⴰ (hzza)

  1. to hold up
  2. (of a liquid) to cause to float
    ⵢⵀⵣⵣⴰ ⴰⵎⴰⵏ ⴰⵢⴰⴷ
    yhzza aman ayad

There is not word in Central Atlas Tamazight for “to float”. Instead, this is expressed using the said verb, with the liquid as subject.
