Gothic[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Germanic *sunnΗ, derived from the oblique stem of *sΓ³hβ‚‚wlΜ₯, and cognate to Crimean Gothic sune and Old English sunne. The Indo-European lemma also yielded πƒπŒ°πŒΏπŒΉπŒ» (sauil), as well as Koine Greek αΌ₯λιος (hαΈ—lios), which both of the Gothic terms translate.
