Perhaps from German -igen.

Suffix[edit]

-igi

  1. (with nominal/adjectival roots) to cause to be, e.g. pura (clean), purigi (to make clean, to clean (tr)).
  2. (with verbal roots) makes transitive verbs out of intransitive ones, e.g. bruli (to burn (intr)), bruligi (to burn (tr)).
