Gothic[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Germanic *-hw, *-uh.
Conjunction[edit]
Usage notes[edit]
- The clitic can occur after the prefix in prefixed verbs; see ๐น๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ท๐๐ฐ๐ฝ๐ณ๐น๐ณ๐ด๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฝ (inuhsandidฤdun) for example.
- After vowels this clitic is reduced to -๐ท (-h), thus ๐๐ฝ๐ฐ๐ฟ (snau) (from ๐๐ฝ๐น๐ ๐ฐ๐ฝ (sniwan)) yields ๐๐ฝ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ท (snauh), not *snawuh (despite the u in snau deriving from an underlying w which is visible in the infinitive and other forms).
