Main category: Fula verbs

Fula verbs are grouped in three voices, each with a regular conjugation:

  • Active voice (infinitive ending in -(u)de, or in Pular, -ugol)
  • Middle voice (infinitive ending in -aade, or in Pular, -agol)
  • Passive voice (infinitive ending in -eede, or in Pular, -egol)

Verbs are formed and conjugated from roots plus endings. A set of suffixes are used to modify meaning, which are placed after the root and before the ending.
