History[edit]

This is a list of Historical Roman names for women. For the history of the Roman name, see Roman Naming Conventions.

Names[edit]

This list is as exhaustive as possible, though it does not encompass the entire list of possible names for women. All these names are also historical. Romans normally had three names, first name (praenomen) second name (nomen) and third name (cognomen). Please add as necessary. Roman females usually also took their father's gens names, with '-a' or '-ia' at the end, e.g., Flavius would be converted to Flavia.
