Vietnamese[edit]
Etymology[edit]
cầu (“bridge”) + giấy (“paper”), literally "paper bridge". This name is derived from Giấy Bridge - a small bridge spanning the Tô Lịch River at Cầu Giấy Street, Cầu Giấy District. During the Nguyễn Dynasty, the bridge was located in Thượng Yên Quyết Village, which has been a traditional paper-making village since the 13th century.
