Vietnamese[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Sino-Vietnamese word from 倫敦.

Pronunciation[edit]

Proper noun[edit]

Luân Đôn

  1. London (the capital city of the United Kingdom; capital city of England)

Usage notes[edit]

  • This is currently the only non-Asian city that has a commonly used Sino-Vietnamese name. Although La Mã is used in the contexts of the "Roman Empire" and such, the city of Rome itself is rarely, if ever, called La Mã anymore.
