Naakáí Łibáʼí = naakai (“they walk”) + -ii (“nominalizer”) ("the walkers", probably an early attempt to translate exploradores) + łi- (adjectival) + -∅- (ni-modal 3rd person subject prefix) + -∅- (classifier) + -bá (neuter imperfective stem of root -BAʼ, “to be gray”).
