I'm not sure what to put as the {{etyl}} for this; there is not enough evidence to claim descent all the way from Proto-Uralic, and even calling it Proto-Finno-Permic doesn't seem appropriate when there are no Permic cognates. On the other hand, I'm not sure if {{unk.}} is appropriate when it seems clear that this dates back already to the common Finnic-Samic-Mordvinic era. Perhaps that unit (West Uralic) could be added as a new Proto-Uralic "dialect label". There have been several studies over the last 20 years that have considered that at least as well-supported a group as Finno-Permic, possibly more. --Tropylium (talk) 21:46, 31 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
