This gives gem-pro|*bītaną|*bitanaz as a descendant, but gem-pro|*bītaną gives "From Proto-Indo-European *bʰéydt, from *bʰeyd- (“to split”).", and ine-pro|*-nós makes verbal adjectives, not verbs, whereas gem-pro|*bītaną is a verb. *bitanaz is an adjective, more specifically a past participle. Within Germanic it's considered part of the verbal paradigm, which is why the lemma is at *bītaną. —Rua (mew) 20:35, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
