Gloss seems incomplete? Balto-Slavic, Germanic (cognates, at least per Rasmussen in Derksen 2015), Hittite (from the shorter leh1-) are all glossed as "let, allow" ~ "loosen, release" (for Hittite)

Semantic leap between "be tired" --> "let, allow" seems unattractive. This suspiciously looks like one of those roots where the same (or similar) phonetic shape has like 5 unrelated meanings.

Another one is *leyd- "to play" (Latin ludo (I play) via *loyd-) Derksen ascribes the Baltic words to this root because w:Hirt's law didn't operate in Baltic (although semantics are complete shit yet again (play-let??)). Neitrāls vārds (talk) 05:08, 31 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
