East slavic etymology[edit]

The reflex on mur- isn't explained by protoslavic mor-. mor- would give moro-. For russian an hypotesis could be confusion with мурава (ants associated to meadows?) but that word as far as I know is absent in belarusiam and ukrainian (it could probably have been lost, given the presence in polish an russian). Anyway, russian ending is somewhat similar to a definite adjective, so protoslavic would be -ьjь, while belarusian and ucrainian suggets a root ending in /x/. I couldn't find anything in Fasmer
