What source suggests *tepe?

[edit]

"Out of all the sources given, only Doerfer and (followingly) Starling suggest *tepö, which is not explicitly supported by descendants. Instead Nishanyan and ESTJa suggest *tepe, Clauson, SIGTJa and Rasanen suggest *töpü; It is rather clear that the rounding occured due to a labial /p/ sound (compare bīn- and bïŋ showing similar results in descendants to due a labial /b/). This is also proven b..."

So what source suggest *tepe? @Yorınçga573 BurakD53 (talk) 20:01, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

ESTJa (depe) and Nishanyan (tepe). Clauson, SIGTJa and Rasanen suggest töpü ~ töpe. We can deduce that those forms are roundings due to a labial sound tepe -> töpö -> töpü/töpe. (see for example bin- > turkmen mün-; -Ip > old anatolian turkish -Up, kepelek -> köpelek). Yorınçga573 (talk) 20:22, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
