At this page it says "# [[ash]] tree". I think it should instead be written as: "# [[Fraxinus|ash tree]]". I do not think that æsc means a tree that has become ash due to a fire; it means a type of tree. According to æ: '[In Old English æ is called] æsc "ash tree" after the Anglo-Saxon ᚫ rune.' The rune "ᚫ" is also called æsc, and it looks like a tree.
From this unreliable source: "When the Angles and the Saxons invaded England in the 5th century they brought their runic alphabet with them. One of the runes was ᚫ, called ash because it also meant ash tree. The letter æ developed from ᚫ, so kept the same name." --NoToleranceForIntolerance (talk) 18:44, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
