The revert of the change from "misspelling" to "alternative spelling"

@Atitarev, do you mean to tell me there are no reliable sources for that change?

This is year 2023. This spelling is predominant in most online discussions (including discussions of Wikimedia project editors who are unlikely to be illiterate). Either there is a completely alternative reality of reliable sources (in which case they are not so reliable), or you are unaware of them. JWBTH (talk) 13:23, 4 November 2023 (UTC)

It's still a misspelling tho. Ain't no bad thing to write it with -ть-ending, but the most of dictionaries will give you the spelling variant -дь, mainly cause it is the etymologically consistent variant. Tollef Salemann (talk) 19:12, 4 November 2023 (UTC)

If there's no bad thing to write it with -ть-ending, it's not a misspelling by definition ("misspel(ling)" implies incorrect usage). No more than lite is a misspelling of light (etymologically consistent variant). If dictionaries fail to reflect the modern usage, that's a whole nother story. Are we limited to dictionaries when we compile Wiktionary entries? Russian dictionaries are conservative and don't include foul language, and foul language dictionaries are not updated often (and may be not of best quality). As only an interjection word it can be spelled in any way, but this one is directly associated with the noun, which has a clear -d- sound in its plural form. By the rules of Russian spelling, it should be written no letter Т there. Tollef Salemann (talk) 01:32, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

The spelling "Light" is not similar to pronunciation of any noun form of this word (except the Scottish pronunciation with an x-sound), that's why the spelling "lite" is not so problematical to use. I don't consider the general meaning of "misspelling" worthy of discussion, honestly (to me it's pretty obvious that when a word is spelled deliberately in a certain way by language speakers, that usage is indeed correct and not a misspelling). Do as you want, but i think that spelling "блять" is in the equal way weird as "лошать" or "кровадь". Of course, Russian language has examples of similar spellings, which have even made their way into dictionaries (see e.g. фляжка and its back-formation фляга). But i find spelling "блять" very problematical because of the reasons i've explained earlier. Tollef Salemann (talk) 15:26, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
