Difficult to say since it is pronounced like two words (still). You would not even know that it is an own word if you hadn’t read it. It happens that languages use multiple prepositions at once. Like German von wegen that is originally “von [some word in the genitive] wegen” or “von wegen [some word in the genitive]” (from Weg, like English “by way of” but in German causally and not instrumentally), and the “von” is now mostly ommitted, but it influences in so far as “von” by itself requires the dative and now it is controversial which case the new preposition wegen uses.
