поборникъ[edit]

This Russian spelling is obsolete, was used until the language reform in 1918. Changed in the Etymology section for Serbo-Croatian. Anatoli 02:25, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, sorry for that. But I did request the proper modern spelling! :) However, strictly technically speaking, when the word was borrowed into SC in the 19th century, the spelling was <поборникъ>, so it would be more "proper" to link to it, but this way it's OK too. --Ivan Štambuk 02:51, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I understand that you know, just thought it would be easier to use the modern spelling, so as not to confuse anyone and to avoid duplicating the entries by having the obsolete spelling. Anatoli 03:12, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
поборникъ was also the Bulgarian spelling until that woeful writing reform from 1945 which deprived our language of the precious letters ѣ, ѧ and ѫ. The uſer hight Bogorm converſation 17:34, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
