why is this a vulgarity? Mallerd 23:20, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Because it sometimes has the meaning of blowjob. —Stephen 23:33, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Funnily, but many Russians cannot even say with certainty what "французский поцелуй" is. The term is, as far as I can see, a neologism, and most probably has appeared as a translation of English "french kiss". Since Russian people strongly believe in sexual ingenuity of the French, they naturally assume that a "french kiss" could not be something less "perverted" than a blowjob. Curiously, but equally obscure expressions such as "французская любовь" (blowjob?) and "французский насморк" (gonorrhea?) have been known (although not widely used) for many ears, perhaps from 19th century. Or парижский насморк. Hmm, I see what you mean. Although a French kiss is nothing more than kissing with tongues, I can see how it could be stretched into this new sense. —Stephen 07:10, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
