Country AND Continent(s)[edit]

In English, America is both a country (United States of America) and a continent (well, two continents North America and South America)... not sure if the Armenian term specifically excludes the continents.

I believe the Armenians count five continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, America, Oceania. Their definition of continent precludes uninhabited landmasses such as Antarctica, America is a single continent, and Oceania includes not only Australia, but also Papu-New Guinea, New Zealand, the Philippines, and the thousands of islands of Micronesia and Polynesia. Like in most languages today, America can also signify the United States. —Stephen 12:18, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
